Are you confident in distinguishing active infection from past exposure? For many clinicians, conventional antibody testing leaves critical gaps particularly in complex, chronic, persistent, or clinically ambiguous cases where understanding current immune activity is essential.
Join us for Part 2 of this advanced clinical series as we take a deeper dive into immune-based diagnostics and the evolving role of T-cell assessment in identifying, monitoring, and managing infectious disease. Building on foundational concepts, this session explores how i-Labs’ T cell Elispot testing, combined with additional immune assessment tools, can provide a more comprehensive, real-time view of immune function and pathogen activity.

Unlike traditional antibody testing, which reflects historical immune exposure, Elispot detects antigen-specific T cells associated with an active immune response occurring in the present. This enables clinicians to better differentiate active infection from past exposure, evaluate pathogen burden, monitor immune activity over time, and assess treatment response with greater clinical confidence.
Elispot can be particularly valuable in cases involving chronic infections, tick-borne diseases, stealth pathogens, immune dysregulation, PANS/PANDAS, Long COVID, chronic inflammatory conditions, and patients with persistent unexplained symptoms where standard testing may be inconclusive.

When paired with complementary immune testing, clinicians gain deeper insight into immune responsiveness and patient-specific patterns, supporting more personalized diagnostic strategies, targeted treatment decisions, and longitudinal monitoring throughout the course of care.

Dr. Brock currently serves as Clinical Coordinator at Carpathia Wellness Group in Dallas TX 

Educational 
Dr. Brock’s academic achievements are broad and interdisciplinary. He holds a Ph.D. in Nursing Science from Texas Woman’s University, specializing in cardiology, quality of life, and dietary strategies,
and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Duke University, with a focus on traumatic brain injury.
He also holds a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) and a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy from Parker University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hardin-Simmons University. Furthering
his expertise, Dr. Brock earned a Master of Nursing Science with a specialization as a Family Nurse Practitioner (NP-C) from Samford University and specialized as an Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner
from Duke University. He enhanced his research training as a Global Clinical Research Scholar at Harvard Medical School, focusing on secondary analysis and clinical research methods.
Dr. Brock is a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (DACNB) and certified practitioner with the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFMCP). His professional expertise includes functional neurology, orthopedics, hormone disorders, autoimmune disease, pediatric care, cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal dysfunction, neurochemistry, regenerative medicine,
and integrative clinical strategies. 

Professional Background 
As a recognized leader in medical education, Dr. Brock has been named Neurology Instructor of the Year, five times by the ACA and IAFNR, and has received humanitarian awards for his work and research with veterans. He has been awarded the Living Legacy Award from Samford University and was honored as Duke University’s Spotlight Student. In addition to serving as a staff clinician, he lectures nationally and internationally, educating medical professionals across various disciplines. Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Brock is also a committed advocate for pediatric care.
He is the Vice Chair of the Texas Pediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome Advisory Council (PANSAC), where he works to improve outcomes for children with complex neuropsychiatric and autoimmune disorders. Outside of medicine, Dr. Brock is devoted to his family and faith. He and his wife, Tara—a Carpathia health coach—share a passion for helping people improve their quality of life. Together, they are raising four children while balancing their shared dedication to health, education, and service.
