Our
Mission

Virus

At i-Labs, our mission is to revolutionize infectious disease diagnostics by delivering precise, actionable immune profiling to enhance patient care. We are committed to advancing the understanding and management of tick-borne diseases and complex immune conditions through cutting-edge T cell Elispot and flow cytometry technologies.

Our testing stands out for its ability to stage infections accurately, identifying active infections, assessing their severity, evaluating immune response appropriateness, and detecting T cell exhaustion in chronic cases. By providing detailed insights into immune dynamics, i-Labs empowers healthcare providers to craft tailored treatment strategies, improving outcomes for patients with conditions like Lyme disease, Babesia, Bartonella, and other infections, such as chronic viral infections.

Our dedication to innovation and scientific rigor ensures reliable, high-quality diagnostics that bridge the gap between complex immune responses and effective clinical decisions.

i-Labs was founded in 2016 by Dr. Carsten Nicolaus and Dr. Felix Scholz, building on the legacy of the BCA-Clinic in Germany, a pioneer in tick-borne disease diagnostics. Recognizing the growing need for precise testing in the U.S., they established i-Labs in Minnesota as a CLIA-certified laboratory specializing in T cell Elispot technology.

Our connection to BCA’s innovative protocols and Dr. Scholz’s immunology expertise has positioned i-Labs as the only U.S. lab offering this advanced platform, paired with superior antigens, to address tick-borne diseases and complex immune conditions.
